Adamed is implementing digital solutions in collaboration with Siemens Polska

29 November 2021

The project carried out for Adamed involves the implementation of MES for production management in the packaging area (Opcenter Execution Pharma) including an eBR module – electronic batch record – to handle digitalization of production orders. System-wide integration with industrial automation will create efficient access to electronic documentation, and equipment and facility statuses. It will reduce repackaging and disposal, bring down errors, handle automatic ordering and accounting for materials, and enable integration with other computerized systems. The solution will be introduced both in the new packaging plant in Pabianice and in the existing packaging areas in Pabianice and Ksawerów.

Building long-term and strategic partnerships is one of Siemens’ core values.  I believe that the contract we have just signed with Adamed is the start of a successful collaboration.  I’m convinced that state-of-the-art digital technologies provided by our company, combined with the expertise of Adamed’s team, will produce a solution matching the standards of Industry 4.0. – says Szymon Paprocki, Managing Director of Process Automation at Siemens Polska.

– The main pillars of Adamed’s development are investments to increase drug production in Poland and boost the company’s innovation capacity, and global expansion.  Implementation of a solution supplied by Siemens Polska and the associated digital transformation carried out by our Industry 4.0 team will enhance the company’s productivity.  A key element required to ensure safe drug supply and guarantee uninterrupted therapy for patients, especially today, in the midst of a protracted pandemic, is stable production.  Adamed responds to current needs in a responsible manner to ensure access to effective cutting-edge treatments both in Poland and in the foreign markets where we are present.  Digitalization of operational processes is a major part of our strategy – says  Bartłomiej Rodawski, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Management Board at Adamed Pharma S.A.

– Cooperation with one of the largest Polish pharmaceutical companies is a unique experience.  Adamed’s vision of growth incorporates the use of digital technologies, which is a great fit for our strategy at Siemens – adds Sebastian Lemieszek, Project Manager responsible for negotiating and implementing the solution.

The project is scheduled to be implemented over 20 months, with the system becoming fully operational 12 months into the implementation.
