Adamed Group is partner of Chemia — amazing love story

28 September 2015

Chemia tells the story of great love between two characters, the lives of whom are overshadowed by the fight against cancer. It displays true relationships, difficult choices and emotions accompanying people in such moments. Chemia was shot under the direction of Bartek Prokopowicz — a renowned director who was responsible among other things for filming Komornik, which won the Golden Lions Grand Prix. He was the husband of Magda Prokopowicz, the story of whom inspired the filmmakers to shoot Chemia. Agnieszka Żulewska and Tomasz Schuchardt were cast in the lead roles.

The official premiere was attended by many journalists and Polish artists. Prior to the screening, the director of Chemia, together with its distributors and producers, thanked the Adamed Group for its support during the filmmaking process.

— Since 2008, we have been working on the first Polish innovative anti-cancer drug. Our project is already at an advanced stage. We are planning to commence the next phase of research soon. We hope that thanks to Chemia, cancer prevention will become an important element of public debate. This is exceptionally important because an increasing number of people of all ages face the issue of cancer — said Małgorzata Adamkiewicz, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of the Adamed Group.

The film’s world premiere was held on 5 July 2015 at the International Film Festival Karlovy Vary. The feature debut of Bartek Prokopowicz was well received at the festival. The film was also screened at the Montreal World Film Festival. In Poland, Chemia was shown for the first time at the T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival and then at the Gdynia Film Festival. The film attracted large audiences each time. Chemia will hit the theatres on 2 October 2015.
