The meeting was attended by Maciej Adamkiewicz, President of the Management Board of the Adamed Group, and representatives of the ADAMED SmartUP Programme — Anna Kosińska and Jerzy Szuniewicz.

The meeting, which was held in the form of a presentation and a debate, was composed of four parts. In the first one, the winners of competitions for young talents presented their achievements, then the representatives of the most important national educational programmes took the floor. The third part consisted of speeches made by representatives of innovative companies, and the last element of the meeting was a workshop and a discussion attended by all its participants.

Jerzy Szuniewicz, ambassador for the scientific and educational programme ADAMED SmartUP, was one of the speakers. At the meeting, the young scientist presented his project in which he proposed a method facilitating the placing of single photons into fibre optic cables with the use of a spatial light modulator controlled by a generic algorithm. In addition, he pointed out the need for support for development of young talents — saying that the ADAMED SmartUP Programme provides such an opportunity. Apart from Jerzy, also Katarzyna Chrapko and Michał Ratajczak presented their projects.

After the young innovators finished their presentations, the chairman of the meeting — Professor Tadeusz Baczko from the Institute of Economic Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences — invited representatives of leading competitions for young people to take part in the discussion. In this part, Anna Kosińska, Project Manager at ADAMED SmartUP, gave a speech in which she discussed the objectives and underlying principles of the programme, possibilities for supporting young talented people, and the current competition for schools entitled “Win laboratory equipment for your school”.

The presentations made by Polish innovative employers were an important item on the meeting’s agenda.
