Members of the MUW Council:


The Senate of the Medical University of Warsaw has elected its University Council. Among its members is Małgorzata Adamkiewicz, MD, PhD, Vice-President of the Board and General Director of Adamed.

The MUW council includes representatives of specific university departments and the student community, as well as members of the business and scientific community.

Professor Artur Mamcarz, MD, PhD – Head of the III Clinic of Internal Medicine and Cardiology

Professor Bolesław Samoliński, MD, PhD – Head of the Centre for Environmental Hazard Prevention and Allergology

Professor Roman Smolarczyk, MD, PhD – Head of the Gynaecological Endocrinology Clinic

Natalia Bierezowicz – Chair of the Student Union of MUW

The council is tasked with issuing opinions on the university statute and planned strategies, as well as monitoring the state of the university finances and the way it is managed. It can also suggest candidates for the function of the Rector. The term of the newly elected council members will last from June of this year until the end of 2020, when another council will be elected for a four-year term.

Pursuant to the Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education, a new body – the University Council – must be established at each public university. It should consist of 6 to 8 individuals chosen by the University Senate, as well as ex officio – the chair of student government.
