27 April 2015

Jan Wejchert Polish Business Roundtable (PRB) Awards, also known as the “Oscars of Polish business,” is a prestigious event. Its objective is to promote Polish entrepreneurship. The distinctions are awarded to people who permanently and effectively make the world around them a better place through their business, scientific or social activity.

The President of the Republic of Poland referred to the idea of this event in his speech.

“I am deeply convinced that Poland’s best ambassador is its economy. Polish economy with its successful endeavours, as well as people who represent them, is the hallmark of our country. It is pure pleasure to hear such complements about Poland and its economic achievements while travelling,” emphasised Bronisław Komorowski.

The awards handed out during the ceremony were in three categories: “Success,” “Vision and Innovation” and “Social Activity.” The Chapter of the Award, which comprised representatives of the Polish Business Roundtable, authorities from the world of business, media and politics (incl. Professor Leszek Balcerowicz and Professor Michał Kleiber), decided to hand out aSpecial Award as well.

The congratulatory speech on the “Vision and Innovation” award category was delivered by Małgorzata Adamkiewicz MD, CEO of the Adamed Group. “It starts with a thought, an idea and the will to make the world a better place,” she started by quoting the corporate film of the Adamed Group. Later in her speech, she mentioned the traits shared by the leaders of innovative solutions: passion, vision and the ability to view the world from many different perspectives. She also emphasised a significant contribution of the Polish business in development of the economy. “The challenge of creating innovations is faced by entrepreneurs in Poland who already contribute in as much as 80% to the economic growth of our country. Thanks to people like today’s laureate Poland has a great chance for development,” said Małgorzata Adamkiewicz.

The laureate in this category was Piotr Voelkel – an entrepreneur and the founder of the VOX Capital Group – distinguished for innovative, humanist approach to business which sets new standards and, at the same time, for his involvement in the area of practical education, including occupational education.

“This is an award for a man who understands today’s world perfectly, who is present in this world and actively shapes it with his passion and vision; a man who believes in young people because he knows that future innovators have to be created from the youngest years, and with them in mind, he established a completely new quality of practical education; a man whose vision of development in line with people’s needs is reflected in the products made by his company. His vision has already convinced many people in several dozen countries all over the world,” added Małgorzata Adamkiewicz.

The event was broadcast live by TV channels TVN24 and TVN24 Biznes i Świat, as well as by an online portal Onet.pl.
