ADAMED SmartUP Roadshow is officially over!

28 November 2014

The meetings with over 1500 pupils took place in Warsaw, Łódź, Lublin, Kielce, Cracow, Bielsko-Biała, Opole, Wrocław, Żary, Poznan, Zamość, Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Gdynia, Gdańsk, Radom, Białystok and Olsztyn.

- Through the cycle of meetings with the pupils we wanted to reach the most talented young people and encourage them to take part in the recruitment for our program.  ADAMED SmartUP was created by the Adamed Group Foundation to support the scientific development of talented youth in scope of exact and natural sciences.  There is a lot at stake – the award will be the participation in a 2-week-long innovative scientific camp as well as a 10-month knowledge-based care in the form of educational coaching.  The best will be granted scientific scholarships tailored to their individual needs – explains Anna Kosińska, Project Manager of ADAMED SmartUP project.

Each of the meetings had a different character, however, they had one common element – the Polish high schools pupils who took scientific career very seriously. They asked endless questions.  They were interested in the kind of tasks they needed to do, the type of puzzles they had to solve to make it to the next stage of the program or the form of the scholarship for the winners.  The young people surprised with their maturity and determination and the meetings only confirmed that they perfectly know how much time and effort is needed to achieve success. They are also aware that their chances to develop their own passions will be higher if they take part in this type of initiatives.

Talks with scientists of ADAMED SmartUP program also met with great interest, they made the pupils aware that the work of a scientist offers broad perspectives.   Some pupils pointed out that scientific work does not need to be associated with nights spent in laboratories or writing scientific publications.  Lecturers like Monika Koperska or Damian Sojka who cooperate with us have proved that scientific work can be connected with freedom and diversity as it is possible to join the passion of solving chemical problems with acting or love for art. We wanted to show the young people that there are no limitations in science, they only exist in our heads  – added Anna Kosińska.

The deadline for sending applications is 30 November 2014.  Pupils aged 15-19 lat who register on www.adamedsmartup.pl will receive activation link to ARG (alternate reality game) on 1 December.  It is the first stage of the recruitment process to the scholarship program.
