In collaboration with the Healthcare Journalists’ Association, Adamed has recognized the best journalists

For 15 years now, the Healthcare Journalists’ Association has been running a contest to select the “Medical Journalist of the Year”. The coveted award is conferred on representatives of the press, radio, television, and the digital media who cover health-related topics. This year, Adamed Pharma was pleased to be a partner of the special prize category Current health status of the Polish population and reporting of nationwide social campaigns and preventive and diagnostic activities aimed at improving health during the New Year’s Conference.

In this part of the contest, the winners were:

  • in the Press Journalism category: Klara Klinger and Patrycja Otto, “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”,
  • in the Radio Journalism category: Julita Nobis and Robert Łuchniak, Radio dla Ciebie,
  • in the Television Journalism category: Adrianna Otręba, TVN24,
  • in the Digital Journalism category: Agnieszka Katrynicz, ISB Zdrowie.

On behalf of Adamed, the prizes were presented by Katarzyna Dubno, Director for External Relations and Health Economics.

As in the previous years, the Healthcare Journalists’ Association chose winners in a number of categories. To recognize vigorous efforts undertaken to communicate current medical knowledge and raise the health awareness among the Polish society, including the medical community, the Association awarded the honorary titles of Master Educator to:

  • the Polish Society of Vaccinology and
  • the editorial teams at “Świat Lekarza” and “Puls Medycyny”.

Among the representatives of the media, special honorable mentions were awarded to:

  • Eliza Dolecka working for zdrowie.gazeta.pl – the title of “Braveheart” for her media activity that sparked positive changes in access to modern diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for cystic fibrosis patients, and drew the attention of public institutions to the difficulties with access to pre-school education faced by children with autism.
  • Bożena Stasiak-Klukowska, “Super Express” and “Świat Lekarza” – Special Honorary Mention for a series of health books, in recognition of the active efforts to disseminate the knowledge of disease prevention and treatment also in this format.
  • Adrianna Borowicz, Polsat News, and Violetta Długosz-Leończuk, TVP3 Warsaw – the title of Health Educator awarded by the Polish Federation of Asthma, Allergy and COPD Patients’ Associations in recognition of her contribution to the fight for healthy lungs and bronchi in the context of air pollution.

Individual Special Honorable Mentions and the title of “Television Communication Champion” were granted to:

  • Maria Zawała, TVS,
  • Adam Giza, Telewizja Polska S.A.,
  • Jacek Michalak, TVP3 Poznań.

 The title of “Radio Communication Champion” was awarded to:

  • Barbara Kozłowska, Polskie Radio Rzeszów,
  • Anna Sojka, Polskie Radio Katowice,
  • Krzysztof Czerwiecki, Radio Płock FM and Chicago FM,
  • Artur Wolski, Polskie Radio Program I.

The Association decided to award the title of “Press Communication Champion” to Katarzyna Pinkosz, working for “Wprost” and “Świat Lekarza” magazines.

Special Honorary Mentions were also awarded to the following authors of medical-themed radio and TV programs that stood out by virtue of their accuracy, topicality, and appealing manner of communication:

  • Ewa Podolska, TOK FM, for the series of radio broadcasts “U TOKtora”,
  • Piotr Poraj-Poleski and Regina Sawicka, TVP, for the series of programs “Rytmy Zdrowia”,
  • Anna Kurzępa, TVP3 Lublin, for the series of programs “Zdrowie w Twoich Rękach”,
  • Marianna Dufek, TVP3 Katowice, for the series of programs “Bilans Zdrowia”.

In this part of the contest, the winners were:

– in the Association’s special category for the best publications on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of endometrial cancer:

  • Ewa Podolska, TOK FM,
  • Krzysztof Czerwiecki, Radio Płock FM and Chicago FM.
