15 February 2023

On 6 February 2023, upon the invitation of the Management Board of the Łódź Special Economic Zone, Adamed Pharma inaugurated another year of cooperation with its partners in the Łódź Special Economic Zone alongside the Minister of Economic Development and Technology Waldemar Buda, Vice-Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship Piotr Adamczyk and economic operators from the region.

Adamed Pharma is the first pharmaceutical company to become one of the leading investors in the Łódź Special Economic Zone. The Zone was established in 1997 and its territory mainly covers the Łódź Voivodeship, as well as part of the Mazovian Voivodeship and the eastern part of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship. The dynamic Special Economic Zone, which has undergone constant development over the recent years, is among the top economic zones in the world according to a ranking list developed by FDI, an industry magazine.

At the event held at the seat of the Łódź Special Economic Zone, Adamed Pharma was represented by Bartłomiej Rodawski, PhD in economy, Member of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer of Adamed Pharma S.A., and by the HR Team, represented by Magdalena Tomczyk and Ewa Najda.

During the official part of the inauguration, the special bond that Adamed shares with the Łódź Region was highlighted.

“We are always proud to remind everyone that we are a family-owned pharmaceutical and biotechnology business with a 100% share of Polish capital, established on the basis of Polish scientific thought and our own patents. Pabianice and Ksawerów are home to our two manufacturing plants that together comprise Adamed’s Production and Logistics Centre. They are the showpiece of the Łódź region, thanks to which Adamed is perceived as a reliable job creator employing a highly-qualified workforce,” says Bartłomiej Rodawski, PhD in economy.

The Production and Logistics Center in Pabianice, one of the most advanced facilities of this kind in the Polish pharmaceutical industry, is currently undergoing expansion. Through this investment project, Adamed is consistently working towards its goal of increasing the medicine security of Polish patients. The project, which will cost more than PLN 300 million to complete, will bring an increase in the company’s production and warehousing capacities, and support the digitalization of logistics, production and quality processes.

“The investments planned and implemented in the Łódź Special Economic Zone are another step towards fulfilling the strategic outlook for growth and improvement, meeting the demand for further required production growth rates. The equipment purchased as part of the new investment will serve to optimize the process of transferring the technology of products at the lab and semi-industrial stage of development to Adamed’s manufacturing sites, both in terms of the available manufacturing methods and scale-up,” adds Karolina Czekaj, PhD, Director for Corporate Finance and Investment at Adamed Pharma S.A.

The event was preceded by a press conference. An additional highlight of the event was the granting of the Digital Eagle (Cyfrowy Orzeł) Award by the Digital Poland Union, as well as a presentation of new companies and projects of the Łódź Special Economic Zone and networking.
