Adamed supports cardiology education in Uzbekistan

19 December 2022

Adamed Pharma works in collaboration with the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Cardiology in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to promote education in the area of cardiology. Adamed has been running a representative office in Uzbekistan since 2020.

Efforts to improve resuscitation skills and raise awareness of the latest CPR guidelines, both among medical professionals and the people of Uzbekistan, are of pivotal importance in the region. These actions are urgently needed in patients affected by a number of cardiovascular incidents, such as myocardial infarction or stroke, necessitating a rapid response. The scale of the problem is best illustrated by statistics. As Uzbek cardiologists highlight, deaths from cardiac causes account for more than half of the total number of deaths in Uzbekistan.

Adamed Pharma’s tangible contribution to improving cardiac safety of Uzbek patients comprises theoretical and practical training sessions in CPR algorithms based on the latest indications and guidelines. Training will be available to young cardiologists at the Cardio Center, who will be able to provide emergency care to patients with cardiovascular incidents in the future. Workshops in cardiopulmonary resuscitation will be conducted on training manikins which have been collected on behalf of the Center by its Director, Prof. Hurshid Fozilov.
